Desk

I wanted a desk that hides most of my computer cables, and one that didn’t take up much floor space. After searching around, I couldn’t find a retail desk that I liked so I designed this in SolidWorks, and then built it. I made a video covering the construction that you can see below.

The desktop is made out of solid Red Oak, while the rest of the structure is made out of dimensional lumber. The entire table is stained a Dark Walnut color, and then finished with a few coats of oil-based Polyurethane.

The legs are attached to the tabletop with a set of 3D printed nuts and bolts. This allows me to remove the legs in the event that the desk needs to be moved elsewhere.

The design of this desk is geared towards an overbuilt look with a wide open tabletop surface, all the while taking up minimal floor space.
